Meyerson on Nader: He did, of course, assert that there were no very serious differences between the two parties, though host Tim Russert got him to concede that there were distinctions on such ephemera as judicial nominations, tax cuts, and environmental enforcement. The American government, Nader reiterated, was still a two-party duopoly. Would that it were! I don't know which branch of government Nader thinks the Democrats still control, but it would hearten us all to discover some niche that Dick Cheney and Karl Rove don't dominate. Ralph, if you're sitting on a secret source of Democratic power, now is as good a time as any to let us know.
