Plantiff Michael Newdow argued yesterday before the Supreme Court against forced recitation of the pledge: I am an atheist. I don't believe in God. And every school morning, my child is asked to stand up, face that flag, put her hand on her heart and say that her father is wrong. The government is supposed to stay out of religion.
