Read his lips:
''I'm going to come out strong after my swearing in,'' Bush said, ''with fundamental tax reform, tort reform, privatizing of Social Security.'' The victories he expects in November, he said, will give us ''two years, at least, until the next midterm. We have to move quickly, because after that I'll be quacking like a duck.''The question is why this Bush quote in the NYT Magazine, which directly contradicts Bush's stated policy and the desires of most Americans, has gone relatively unnoticed, while a blatant misinterpretation of a Kerry quote most folks agree with in the same publication a week earlier (I mean, who among us doesn't see the reduction of terrorism to a "nuisance" as a worthwhile goal?) got blasted across the airwaves. The answer is not that we have a liberal media bias.
