TAs at U. Wisconsin vote to strike: The union has been negotiating for a 2003-05 contract for nearly 10 months. The state's last offer provided no wage increase for 2003-04 and a 1.7 percent increase for 2004-05. But union members were reviewing a new offer from the state Monday in an effort to head off the job action after union representatives met with state negotiators earlier in the day. TAA co-president Boian Popunkiov said the state had made a new offer for the first time in months.
